...And after a great run, meeting and collaborating with so many amazing people, hanging out at openings, setting up shows, cleaning up after shows (we have had some pretty crazy ones), and showing some incredible work, I sadly inform you that we will be closing our doors.
It has been an amazing time working, laughing, and growing with all of you, unfortunately our time at this space has come to an end. On June 15th, Loft 594 will be closing its doors so the landlord can build another condo in its stead.
Today from 7-10pm is the last opening we will have in our beautiful space. If you are in the neighborhood we would love for you to come! If you can’t make it to our final show we will be open for Bushwick Open Studios so please stop by.
We will be taking some time off from starting up a new space. In the meantime, the 594 Gallery will be starting up an online shop and working on some pop up shows.
I leave you with this. Work hard at what you’re passionate in. There will be days that you feel you cannot keep moving towards your dream- don’t stop moving. There will be days you will be so tired that you feel you will never wake- sleep and rise again. There will be days where all you want to do is cry- so cry. It will be worth it. You will look back at what you have transcended and realize it was all worth it. You will move, sleep, and cry again, but this time from the joy that you have created with the friends, family, and the loved ones in your life. The people you meet while doing what you love will change your life forever. I cannot begin to count how many wonderful, amazing and incredibly talented people I have met that have a place in my heart forever (yes I know, cheesy, but so true). Through all the pain and torment the gallery has brought me from fighting with the landlord to survive, I wouldn't trade it for anything because of all the wonderful, amazing, and talented people that I have met thanks to Loft 594.
